ABB at IME 2015

2015-10-26 - ABB Turbocharging participated in Indonesia Maritime Expo (IME) 2015 that was held on October 7 – 9, 2015 at Hall B, JIExpo Kemayoran Jakarta.

IME is a three-day international maritime and offshore industrial event that brings an international congregation of companies and industry professionals together to tackle the pertinent concerns of the booming offshore, shipbuilding and maritime industries in Indonesia.

In this event, ABB came with a theme “More power, more options” and highlighted ABB technologies that maximizes fuel efficiency. One of the displayed products at the booth was VTC254, a special model that depicted layer by layer of its parts. These eye-catching models allow visitors to ask questions about each key component in a particular part.

“Having the world’s first industrial turbocharger, we here continue to push the turbocharging in Indonesia’s marine industry. Indonesia is the world’s largest archipelago and transportation is vital for its economic development and national defense. We are here to provide engine builders and application operators with advanced turbocharging solutions for efficient and flexible application operations and compliance,” added Thomas Frencis, Local Business Unit Manager of Turbocharging.

For marine industry, ABB Turbocharging offers various type of turbocharger from low speed to high speed engine. The latest type of ABB turbocharger is A-series which was developed to reduce fuel consumption, produce fewer emissions, and help generate more power on less fuel. This technology is designed following the previous generation TPL which has been installed widely in Indonesia, particularly in power stations and vessels.

IME was hosted by 150 exhibiting companies and witnessed high-profile participation of more than 6,500 visitors from all segments of the industry, academia, military and government. The event also comprised conferences and business networking event that provided very informative updates regarding Indonesia’s rising maritime and offshore industries.

IME 2015 was one of the platforms for ABB Turbocharging to reach out to potential business contacts among the trade visitors who attended the event.
