Deposition of manganese in drinking-water distribution systems is a widespread problem facing the water industry today. On-line analysis of manganese is an increasingly important measurement in drinking water treatment, as authorities strive to consistently maintain manganese levels leaving the plant to below 0.02 ppm (parts per million).
Manganese deposits restrict water flow in pipelines and, when they fall off, reduce the aesthetic quality of the water. When these (brown-black metal oxide) deposits settle in standing water, they stain laundry and fixtures, resulting in customer complaints.
With the new range of Aztec 600 Manganese Analyzers, water authorities can accurately assess the manganese levels entering the plant and the efficiency of the removal process; enabling the plant operation to be optimized, resulting in improvements to water palatability and reductions in customer complaints. With two different chemical methods available, you can choose a measuring range to suit your application.
Aztec 600 Manganese Analyzer measures up to 10 ppm Mn and is suitable for raw waters where higher levels of manganese may be encountered.
Aztec 600 Manganese Low Range Analyzer is designed specifically for the measurement of low concentrations of manganese found in final waters (typically <0.05 ppm Mn) and offers greater sensitivity over this range.
New Aztec 600 Ammonia Analyzer
The Aztec 600 Colorimetric Ammonia Analyzer offers reliable and accurate on-line analysis of ammonia and ammonium ions up to 3 ppm NH3 and compliments ABB's existing ammonia ion-selective offering. Suitable for measuring ammonia concentrations in rivers and drinking water reservoirs, as well as final treated water, the Aztec 600 Colorimetric Ammonia Analyzer offers low level ammonia detection from just 5 ppb NH3.
